JEMPERLI is an immunotherapy designed to work with the body to help fight cancer

Understanding immunotherapy

JEMPERLI is not chemotherapy or radiation. It is an immunotherapy (IH-myoo-noh-THAYR-uh-pee), which means it is designed to work with the body’s immune system to find and attack cancer cells.

Here’s how JEMPERLI works:

Could JEMPERLI be right for you?

If you have dMMR* endometrial cancer that has returned or spread outside your uterus (advanced) and after you have received chemotherapy containing platinum and your cancer cannot be treated by surgery or radiation, your doctor may prescribe JEMPERLI.

*dMMR stands for “mismatch repair deficient.” It describes cancers that have an MMR system that is not working properly to correct errors in the genes. dMMR is an important biomarker in endometrial cancer.

Biomarker testing can provide important information about your disease

Biomarkers are molecules found in tissues or fluids of your body that show if a condition, process, or disease is normal or abnormal. During normal cell growth, the mismatch repair (MMR) system corrects mistakes that occur in your genes. Knowing your MMR status is important because:

  • Up to 30% of people with endometrial cancer have dMMR tumors
  • If you have endometrial cancer with the dMMR biomarker, you might benefit from a treatment known as immunotherapy
  • dMMR status may be associated with Lynch syndrome, an inherited condition that increases the risk of developing endometrial cancer

What do the experts say?

National guidelines recommend testing your MMR status if you have endometrial cancer. Ask your doctor for information on biomarker testing.
